A week of loose thoughts, brewed into a few sentences.
Last updated September 29, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Steep Notes app. Installing or using the app means you accept them. They apply along with Apple's Standard License Agreement, which covers the app itself.
You drop in pieces during the week. At the brew time you choose, Steep sends the text of those pieces to an AI and shows you the short sentences it writes. You keep the ones you want. At the end of the month, Steep groups the sentences you kept, and you decide what each group becomes.
Sentences are written by AI. They can be wrong, and they can miss what you meant. Check anything factual before you rely on it. Nothing Steep writes is medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
Letting go is how Steep works. When you finish a brew, that week's pieces and the sentences you didn't keep disappear from the app, and they're deleted a year later. An old sentence that comes back to you is gone if you don't keep it within a day. A monthly result stays only until you finish the next month, so save or send out anything you want to hold on to. Steep can't bring back what it has deleted, and neither can we, because we never had a copy.
You own what you write. We claim no rights to it or to the sentences Steep writes for you, and we don't store either. See the Privacy Policy. Everything lives on your phone, so backing it up is up to you. If you lose or wipe your phone without a backup, we can't get anything back for you.
Your license to use the app is personal and non-transferable. It covers Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store Terms of Service allow. Use the app only for lawful purposes, and don't use it to create content that breaks the law or harms others. You also confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Steep has no permanent free plan. New subscribers get the first month free. After that, brewing and Steep's other AI features need an active subscription. The price is shown in the app and on the App Store before you subscribe.
If your subscription ends, nothing is deleted because of it. You can still open Steep and read what you kept. It just stops writing new sentences until you subscribe again.
The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that anything the AI writes is accurate or useful to you.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost data or decisions made based on what the AI wrote. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to what you paid for Steep in the twelve months before the dispute arose.
Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
You can stop using Steep at any time by deleting it. If you use the app unlawfully or to harm others, your right to use it ends. The sections on warranty, liability, and governing law still apply after that.
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the update.
